KerrFadia ("we", "our", "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
1. Data We Collect
When you use KerrFadia, we collect: • Account information — name, email address, password (hashed), and role (landlord or tenant) • Profile information — WhatsApp number (optional) • Listing information — property details, photos, location coordinates entered by landlords • Location data — when a landlord pins a property on the map, we collect the latitude and longitude they select. On mobile, we request access to your device location (only when you choose "Use My Location") to help you drop an accurate pin. We do not track your location continuously or in the background. • Photo library access — when uploading property photos (mobile app), we request access to your photo library solely to let you select images to upload. We do not access, copy, or store any photos other than those you explicitly choose to upload. • Booking information — dates, payment status, tenancy agreements • Communication — messages and inquiries sent through the platform • Device information — Expo push token (mobile app users only) for notifications • Usage data — pages visited, searches performed
2. How We Use Your Data
We use your data to: • Provide and operate the KerrFadia platform • Match tenants with landlord listings • Process bookings and payments • Send transactional emails (booking confirmations, inquiries, password resets) • Send push notifications (mobile app) • Verify property listings before publishing • Improve and secure the platform
3. Third-Party Services
We use the following trusted third-party services to operate the platform: • Stripe — payment processing. Card details are never stored on our servers. Stripe's privacy policy applies to payment data. • Resend — transactional email delivery. • Supabase — property image storage. • Expo — push notification delivery for mobile users. • MongoDB Atlas — secure cloud database hosting. Each provider is bound by their own privacy policies and data protection standards.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We only share data: • With service providers listed above, to the extent necessary to operate the platform • With the other party in a booking (e.g. landlord receives tenant name when a booking is confirmed) • When required by law or legal process
5. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or financial reasons (e.g. completed payment records).
6. Security
We protect your data with industry-standard security practices including encrypted passwords, HTTPS-only connections, JWT authentication, and rate limiting on sensitive endpoints. No system is 100% secure — please use a strong password and keep your account credentials private.
7. Your Rights & Account Deletion
You have the right to: • Access the personal data we hold about you • Correct inaccurate information • Request deletion of your account and associated data • Withdraw consent for optional data uses (e.g. push notifications) To delete your account, go to Settings → Delete account and follow the on-screen confirmation. Your account and personal data will be removed immediately. Note that completed payment and tenancy records may be retained for legal and financial compliance purposes. If you are unable to access your account, email info@kerrfaadia.com with the subject "Delete My Account" from your registered email address and we will process your request within 30 days. To disable push notifications, go to your device Settings → KerrFadia → Notifications and turn them off at any time.
8. Cookies
KerrFadia uses a single authentication cookie to keep you logged in. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. We do not use Google Analytics or any third-party analytics that track you across websites.
9. Children's Privacy
KerrFadia is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users by email of any material changes. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
